Donate your handmade red scarf

During these tough times, it's important for us at Black Sheep Yarn Shop to support our community. We are beginning a new community service project this month, and to make this project a success, we need your help.

We invite you to join us in knitting and crocheting red scarves for WomenHeart Central Maryland Support Network and the local chapter of the National Coalition of Women with Heart Disease. WomenHeart has chosen the red scarf as a lifeline of caring and support that exists among women living with heart disease and members of their community.

Beyond candy, flowers, and cards, the spirit of Valentine's Day is to take a moment to express your love for someone special. For these women, the gift of a handmade scarf will represent part of the healing journey. They will be presented with your red scarves when they get out of the hospital as a gesture of support and comfort. It is a gift that truly comes from the hearts and hands of people who care.

Requirements:

WomenHeart asks that scarves be:

•  Red
•  Made of lightweight soft materials
•  3 to 5 inches wide
•  50-54 inches long

For your scarf donation and support, Black Sheep Yarn Shop will be happy to assist you with an appropriate choice of yarn.

We will also provide you with a 10% discount your on your choice of red yarn.
